Day of Caring – United Way of Southern Nevada

Day of Caring – United Way of Southern Nevada

The dictionary defines “caring” as displaying kindness and concern for others. On September 30, 2016, UWSN rallied 1,000 volunteers from our community to participate in the annual Day of Caring, displaying kindness by giving of their time and energy to area charities and schools. During this special day, individuals from throughout our valley participated in an amazing 91 service projects taking place at 23 nonprofit agencies and 16 elementary and middle schools.

The Day of Caring held special importance for DeAndre Esteen, as he had the opportunity to volunteer at his childhood elementary school. DeAndre describes his experience with warmth and enthusiasm: “Being able to come back and bring 15 of my colleagues to spruce up, paint, and just overall give a nice coat of happiness to Walter Bracken really meant a lot to me.”
